Make sure your HD signal is set to auto and not custom. It seems the new firmware might have changed the default to custom after startup.
If it's the same with the other controller then it's either craft related or channel related
People often complain of poor range with FW changes but it's often nothing to do with it.
Try downgrading the craft FW

I was having the same problem yesterday where the inspire 1 would not connect and kept seeing the disconnected warning. It seemed to happen a lot more on my iPAD mini 4 and switched to my iphone 6 and was a bit better but the reception was terrible on both. Any idea why the iPad would be worse?
Im with you on that...I like mines just the way it is she fine tune. I'm glade I didn't update other than my app sneaking one in. Firmware updates will do me no good at this point. If it's not broke don't fix in. I don't think that's used any more.
