Max Distance = 500M??

Using the iOS app the max distance allowed is 500M.

This can't be real is it?

Even the Owners Manual says the I1 has a range of 2KM.

What gives?

Are you sure that's a max distance allowed or is it where you can set your own max distance should you wish to?

This can't be true. If this is true, I'm going to demand a refund. I bought a drone that could fly 2 km, not 500 m. Can anyone confirm that DJI added this distance restriction?

Max distance setting is indeed 500m max... IF you have the "maximum distance" switch on.

Not on ios,but I went more than a mile before my inspire wanted to go visit the tech guys at dji la..
so unless they have done something with the new ios app we should be ok.
also there would be a large outcry if they limit range..
I'm all good with 500 meters ceiling although I don't like that they changed it without informing the operators first..

Nothing has changed. I fly 1k and further often. I think the OP misunderstood the App.

But what the is the "Maximum Distance" toggle for and what does it do?
