Phantom X - A video released by DJI officially

Exactly what my view is on the near future of consumer drones.
Small, light, autonomous, very close range only, cell phone or apple watch operated and completely free to use for everybody without any license or pilot certification. They will probably not go any higher or further than 30m.
Anything bigger than that will need pilot licensing and certification in the near future. And DJI shows they're ready when that day arrives, probably in 2018 or earlier.

A reality I would hate to see come true, for the serious enthousiasts pilots, a very important source of experience for the whole industry.

For those want to see the direction DJI is going in, and their project X to allow painting in the sky

If the "future of possible" and aerial photography is about dronie drones and selfie sticks, I am saddened.
